BNR Book Club is dedicated to providing a forum for black nurses to further connect and engage in literary professional and personal development. The BNR Book Club mission is to support black authors, engage our members, and encourage self-improvement.

  • Recommendations
    • Book Club will start in January, and will have books scheduled for reading quarterly. The books will focus on the following categories: Leadership, wealth, health and professional development

    • Blog discussions on readings can occur via our website, I can moderate the discussion
    • In an effort to keep audiences engaged a mailing list would be great to send blasts/reminders on book selections and when discussions have been opened
    • All participates will be invited to purchase selected book and join group chats, webinars, or conference calls to discuss and for feedback.

    • Wealth: Think and Grow Rich: A Black Choice By: Dennis Kimbro
  • Community Service Component
    • Book Donations from members that may not be able to participate, but want to contribute. Books can be donated to a school in an underserved neighborhood
    • The african library project will open up a library in our honor if we are able to collect and donate a certain amount of books. (1000 books + 500.00 to cover shipping equals a library in honor of Black Nurses Rock) This can be by donations/ people can donate books and or money. They will need to be appropriate for children
    • book donations will be mailed to BNR P.O. Box 501 Enid, OK 73702 and monetary donations will be sent via paypal
    • If we decide to move forward with either one we can work out the logistics for collection etc.
